By appointing Dr. Selim Gençal, known for his successful work in youth and education, to the position of general manager, a strong step has been taken into the new era.

According to the statement made by TÜRGEV, Makbule Çabuk, who has been serving as the general manager since 2023, handed over her duties to Dr. Selim Gençal as of August 2025. During her tenure, Çabuk played a pioneering role in developing the foundation's institutional capacity, implementing student-centered projects, and expanding social responsibility initiatives. Under Makbule Çabuk's leadership, educational programs and scholarship systems were strengthened, supporting thousands of young people in various fields. After the change of duty, Makbule Çabuk continues her role as an advisor to the Board of Directors of TÜRGEV.

Who is Dr. Selim Gençal?

Born in Istanbul in 1987, Dr. Selim Gençal completed his undergraduate education in International Management in Germany. He completed his master's and doctorate in Business Administration at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. In his academic work, Gençal focused primarily on effective management in civil society and organizational behaviors, holding senior management positions in both the private sector and national and international civil society organizations. Leading large-scale humanitarian aid projects, Gençal became a pioneer in project management, digital transformation, and strategic decision-making processes.

Married and a father of three, Dr. Selim Gençal will lead the future vision of TÜRGEV. The goal is to further strengthen the services the foundation provides to students and young people in the new era.
