In 1996, under the leadership of Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was the Mayor of Istanbul at that time, a group of volunteers established the Istanbul Foundation for Youth and Education Services (İSEGEV).
1996In the 1990s, many young girls coming to Istanbul from all over Turkey to receive university education were struggling to access safe and quality housing opportunities. In response to this need, a group of volunteers, led by Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was the Mayor of Istanbul at the time, established the Istanbul Youth and Education Service Foundation (İSEGEV) in 1996.
The first service ring of the foundation after its establishment was the Hasanpaşa Higher Education Girls' Dormitory opened in Kadıköy.
Cerrahpaşa Higher Education Girls' Dormitory has opened. Cerrahpaşa Dormitory has continued to be a home for our young girls for over 10 years.
The Hüma Hatun Higher Education Girls' Student Dormitory in Başakşehir has started its activities.
Başakşehir Higher Education Girls' Student Dormitory has opened.
TÜRGEV Continued the opening of dormitories in Istanbul; Hadımköy Higher Education Girls' Dormitory has started to operate.
2012The foundation, which continues its journey of serving youth and education through girls' student dormitories, has decided to expand across Turkey. In this process, it updated its name to Türkiye Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı (TÜRGEV).
An Education Services Unit was established within TÜRGEV, creating a common and strong educational content in the dormitories.
2013Memorization studies have started for female students studying in the TÜRGEV dormitories. Today, the seeds of many services such as TÜRGEV Academy, Pusula Yetenek Yönetimi Merkezi, Psikolojik Danışmanlık Merkezi (PDM), and Platform Studies have been sown.
2014The TURKEN Foundation was established to provide accommodation, scholarships, and academic support to young people studying abroad.
2014The Education Support Programs Center — EDEP has been established.
2014Student platforms have been established where young people can engage in scientific production. Platform Studies have been initiated under 9 different headings.
2015The Grand Opening Ceremony of the Dormitories, held with the participation of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has become an important turning point in the growth of TÜRGEV across Turkey. In this context, 8 girls' student dormitories were opened in 6 provinces.
2015The TÜRGEV Youth Center in Ankara has opened its doors.
2015EDEP Üsküdar Campus has opened.
2015Ibn Khaldun University was established.
2016TÜRGEV Akademi Programı — TAP has been implemented as a second university model for students.
2016GİF Vezneciler Education Campus has been opened. TÜRGEV Akademi Programı It was held for the first time at this campus.
2017Güzel İşler Fabrikası — GİF was established. Youth centers were transformed into GİF Education Campuses.
2017Established to help students discover their talents TÜRGEV Pusula Yetenek Yönetimi Merkezi.
2017TÜRGEV Psychological Counseling Center — PDM was established.
2018TÜRGEV Psychological Counseling Center — PDM, expanded its activities in dormitories to support students' development.
2019TÜRGEV Akademi Programı held its first student symposium (TAP).
2020The Anti-Bullying Project has been implemented.
2020The first National Student Congress of Platform Studies was held online.
2021GİF Safveti Pasha Educational Campus has started its activities.
2021The Anti-Bullying Project won first place at the Turkey Youth Summit.
2022The Mevlanakapı Children's Library and Workshop Center (MEÇKAM) has been established.
2022GİF Silopi Education Campus has started its activities.
2023After the earthquakes on February 6, the Brotherhood Table was established. TÜRGEV volunteers took action in all 11 provinces affected by the earthquake, providing support to the victims; they strengthened the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood through activities conducted with children.
2024The Visual Design Competition with Artificial Intelligence was held.
2024TÜRGEV The Alumni Office has been established.
2024GİF Orchestra gave its first concert.
TÜRGEV Akademi Programı provided online service (TAP).
2024TÜRGEV The Summer School was held for the first time.
The GSB "Increase the State of Well-Being, Empower the Youth" project has been launched.
The Peer Bullying Prevention and Intervention Program was implemented.
The introduction of the new organizational structure has been made.
2025The GİF Orchestra gave its biggest concert in Istanbul.
2025The new campus of Güzel İşler Fabrikası has been opened in Konya.
The 3rd International UNESCO Science Diplomacy and Scientific Heritage Symposium was held under the auspices of TÜRGEV.
"The Language of Witness: Gaza and Literacy" program series was implemented as a holistic effort designed around 12 different literacy topics to strengthen social awareness regarding Gaza.
2026TÜRGEV The 5th National Student Congress was held with the theme "Young Minds, Common Future."
The Vocational Education Awareness Project has been implemented.
Participation was provided in the Social Fest held at Istanbul University.
Participation was provided in the first-ever Zero Waste Festival, and various events were held.
TÜRGEV The 30th Anniversary Program was held with great enthusiasm at the Haliç Congress Center, with the participation of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Mrs. Emine Erdoğan.
TÜRGEV continues to work with the inspiration and strength it receives from the youth.
