TÜRGEV Platform Studies 4th National Student Congress
We held the fourth National Student Congress, where the discipline-based studies conducted by platform students over the course of a year are shared.
Platform Programs
TÜRGEV Platform Studies is a program that supports undergraduate and graduate students staying in TÜRGEV dormitories to deepen their academic and professional fields, think alongside different disciplines, and develop their accumulated knowledge through field experience and collaborative production.
The program aims to develop students as young individuals who move beyond being mere participants in education and activities, becoming researchers, inquirers, taking responsibility within teams, and approaching social issues from the perspective of their fields.
Students are included in one of the 6 platforms according to the departments they study. Throughout the program, they participate in trainings accompanied by Platform Advisors and Policy Advisors; they have the opportunity to apply what they have learned through dormitory activities, workshops, reading groups, field and institution visits, expert meetings, and Thematic Platform Meetings.

Platform Studies for students;

Education Sciences Platform
Covers the departments within the faculties of education.

Covers law, economics, business, political science, public administration, and related fields.

Social sciences encompass the fields of language and literature as well as religious studies.

Architecture encompasses the fields of fine arts, design, media, and communication.

Covers natural sciences such as physics and chemistry, in addition to engineering and technology fields.

Education Program
The academic process of Platform Studies is carried out through two complementary training programs. The training lasts for an academic year.
InterdisciplinaryMonthly
Platform Training
It is an educational program that enables students to deepen in the academic field of their own platforms.
In the training conducted under the guidance of the Platform Consultant, text and article readings, conceptual discussions, case and report reviews, visual content analyses, and various application methods are utilized.
Platform Trainings are conducted monthly throughout the academic term.
InterdisciplinaryMonthly
Political Education
It is an educational program that brings together students from 6 platforms around an annual common theme.
Under the guidance of a Policy Advisor, students are aimed to evaluate social issues by utilizing the knowledge and methods of different disciplines, analyze problem areas, and develop solution-oriented thinking skills.
Policy Trainings are conducted monthly with the joint participation of all platforms.
From Education to Practice
As part of the program, students participate in various activities alongside the dorm teams in addition to their academic training.

Thematic Platform Meetings
Thematic Platform Meetings
Each platform holds a large-scale Thematic Platform Meeting focused on its own academic and professional field during the training period.
In meetings planned in a panel or discussion format, competent names from the relevant field come together with students. During the organization process, platform students also take on active roles and responsibilities.
Youth Perspective Reports
The knowledge gained by the platforms in training, field observation, and activity processes is transformed into evaluation reports at the end of the period.
These studies, in which each platform evaluates the annual common theme from its own academic field, are gathered under the name Youth Perspective Reports.
The reports prepared are planned to be shared under the title "What Did the Platforms Say?".

How Does the Application Process Work?
The platform that students will participate in is determined by the department they are studying in.
01Application
Students apply for Platform Studies by completing their personal and educational information.
02Preliminary Assessment
Applications are evaluated in terms of continuity in the program, motivation for academic and professional development, suitability for teamwork, and the ability to actively participate.
03Interview and Evaluation
Interviews will be conducted with suitable candidates. During the interviews, the student's motivation, approach to taking responsibility, communication, and teamwork skills will be evaluated.
04Acceptance and Team Formation
The platforms of the accepted students are determined according to the department they are studying in. Dormitory-based platform teams are formed, and task and responsibility distributions are carried out.
