Inspired by tradition, a climate of art shaped by thought GİF Spring Meetings began on May 26 at the Safveti Pasha Campus; the event, which will last until May 27, offers participants a packed program from workshops to discussions.
This year, we continue to blend our vision for youth culture and education with art, coming together with our young girls at the GİF Spring Meetings held at the Safveti Pasha Campus from May 25 to 27, under the theme "Discover, Experience, Learn."
In this gathering, where we center aesthetic sensitivity with a value-oriented approach, we create opportunities for young people to develop their production skills and gain intellectual depth. At the event, which will also be attended by our Board Chair, Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, we strengthen the culture of collective production together with workshops that bring traditional arts to life and discussions that take place within the framework of culture and science.
A Journey Starting with Workshops and Deepening with Discussions
Throughout the program, we offer production areas with various traditional handicraft workshops such as felt, punch, woodblock printing, marbling, and watercolor. In the discussion sessions, our Chair, Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, along with Nazan Yalçınkaya, Duygu Orak, and Yasemin Darbaz Karaca, engage in in-depth conversations with young people on many topics such as art, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, architecture, and intellectual production.
The GİF Spring Meetings are not just an event for us, but also a multifaceted learning and development space we open to youth. We conclude our program, which takes shape with a different theme each day, with a closing event intertwined with music.
We Are Open-Hearted to Beautiful Works
We expect over 1500 participants this year at our gathering, where we hosted 1200 young people last year. Our participants include a wide range from university students to young girls who want to develop themselves in the field of culture and art, as well as volunteer trainers.
With our inclusive structure that particularly supports the social and cultural participation of young women, we are recognized as a reliable, qualified, and visionary youth platform in the public eye.
