As TÜRGEV, we hosted students and educators from Granada, Spain, in Istanbul in collaboration with the Granada Mosque Foundation and the Andalusian Education Foundation. During this meeting, the youth had the opportunity to experience the deep traces of Islamic civilization on-site; they developed a common understanding of identity, belonging, and cultural heritage awareness.

The program started with a presentation and breakfast about TÜRGEV. Participants experienced Turkey's rich cultural heritage up close through a Turkish coffee workshop, Anatolian printing techniques, and traditional arts activities. The colors unique to Andalusia used in the events brought together the aesthetic values of the two civilizations in a single pot. The Thought Workshop organized at KADEM allowed young people from different geographies to share their ideas, contributing to the formation of a common vision for the future.

Conversations held with our volunteers at TÜRGEV facilitated the development of intercultural understanding among the youth and the establishment of lasting friendships. Our officials stated that this meaningful journey from Granada to Istanbul reinforced the identity and civilization awareness of Muslim youth living in Europe and contributed to their unification around common values.

This program, which took place with the participation of 11 students and 2 teachers coming from Granada to Istanbul, opened a new door for international solidarity and cooperation for future leaders. The certificates given to participants at the end of the program symbolized the beginning of a strong bond between the two communities.
