We launched the "Peer Bullying Prevention and Intervention Program" to support the development of our children and youth in a safe educational environment. This special program organized by our Psychological Counseling Center was held on June 21-22, 2025, at our Güzel İşler Fabrikası (GİF) Safveti Pasha Campus in Istanbul.
Throughout the two-day program, we aimed to raise awareness in the community about combating cyberbullying and promoting kindness among peers. We came together with experts in the field such as Prof. Dr. Safa Bulut, Clinical Psychologist Onour Impram, and Clinical Psychologist Süreyya Kitapçıoğlu to discuss effective ways to spread a culture of kindness in educational institutions and prevent bullying.
We Prioritize Psychological Safety in Education
According to UNESCO data, one in three students worldwide is subjected to bullying in the school environment. In Turkey, this rate is approximately 30 percent. We believe that bullying is a serious issue that threatens not only individuals but also equal opportunities in education and social cohesion. Therefore, we are taking solution-oriented steps by prioritizing the psychological safety of our children.
We Work for a Generation Raised with Peer Kindness
Our Board Chair, Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, made evaluations about the two-day Peer Bullying Prevention and Intervention Program;
"Peer kindness is the cornerstone of our youth's development into healthy and strong individuals. This is not only key to individual development but also to social solidarity. As TÜRGEV, we are working to equip our youth with compassion, justice, and kindness alongside knowledge. This program is a concrete step towards the conscience-based education required by our time, by promoting peer kindness." she stated.
As part of our event, we also launched a comprehensive awareness campaign to support the sustainability of our "Prevent Bullying" project. We provided our participants with case analyses suitable for their age groups, guiding content for teachers, and effective intervention methods.
