The "Well-Being Star Project" was implemented with the support of the Turkish National Agency, coordinated by EGADER, in partnership with TÜRGEV.
With the support of the Turkish National Agency and under the coordination of EGADER, we implemented the project "Healthy Societies Under the Guidance of the Well-Being Star" in partnership with TÜRGEV, conducting a comprehensive training and awareness program for youth workers and volunteer youth. We carried out the project in Istanbul with participants from Turkey, Italy, Romania, and North Macedonia. Our aim was to empower experts who could communicate more effectively with young people and support their well-being, as well as to increase the social responsibility awareness of the youth.
Within the scope of this project, we encouraged young people to adopt a balanced lifestyle in terms of physical, mental, and social aspects. In our workshops, we focused on topics of mental, emotional, and physical well-being within the framework of the Well-Being Star model. By addressing themes such as self-awareness, stress management, positive self-image, and self-compassion, we aimed for participants to understand their inner worlds and thus be able to guide others more effectively. Sessions that enhance emotional resilience through mindfulness practices also supported this process.
Our participants formed groups and conducted research on topics such as environment, finance, and physical well-being, producing outputs and sharing these outputs in a way that would contribute to the project. Special sessions aimed at developing young people's environmental awareness and sustainable living habits were also included in the program.
During our visit to the GSB Youth Center in Istanbul, we observed good examples of volunteer-based youth work on-site. Additionally, through the city tour we organized, participants had the opportunity to learn about Istanbul's historical and cultural heritage; during our visit to TÜRGEV Beautiful Works Factory, they also had the chance to experience creative workshops and programs that promote youth productivity.
Throughout the project, we aimed to increase the active participation and awareness of young people in society by addressing the physical, mental, emotional, and environmental aspects of the individual with a holistic approach. We evaluated every step, from institutional visits to leisure activities, as a planned, structured, and observation-based learning process.
This project made a significant contribution to our goal of building healthier, more conscious, and stronger societies through youth workers and volunteers.
