The National Afforestation Day, declared by our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2019, was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country this year as well. In collaboration with the General Directorate of Forestry, we entrusted 1,111 saplings to the future during the planting event we held in Kurna, Pendik, Istanbul.

TÜRGEV our students and volunteers coming from our homeland participated in the Green Homeland Mobilization simultaneously, adding youthful energy to environmental awareness. Each sapling symbolized the effort of a student, the prayer of a volunteer, and the hope of a nation for the future.

This meaningful day transformed into a conscience-based youth movement by bringing together environmental responsibility and volunteerism. For us, this event was not only a signature to the soil but also to the future.

As TÜRGEV, we continue our efforts to protect nature, spread awareness of sustainable living, and encourage young people to engage in environmentally friendly projects. Under our "Memorial Forest" project, which we initiated in previous years, we had brought together over 20,000 saplings in fire-affected areas. This year, we continue to give life to the Green Homeland with the same belief.

As stated by our Board Chair, Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz;

"To sustain the Green Homeland is to sustain the conscience of humanity. We want every young person growing up in these lands not only to love nature but also to take on its responsibility."

With this awareness, we will continue to reach more and more young people each year, giving life back to nature with every sapling.
We believe that as long as Turkey stands united under the shade of a tree, our future will continue to flourish.
