The "Foundation Higher Education Institutions 2019" report prepared by YÖK included detailed academic, administrative, and financial data regarding foundation universities in Turkey.
Accordingly, İbn Haldun University ranked first in the list of universities with the highest annual current expenditure per student among foundation higher education institutions at 143,256 lira.
Universities Offering Full Scholarships
The report also included the full scholarship rates of foundation universities based on the data from the Higher Education Examination (YKS) Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide.
Accordingly, İbn Haldun University became the only university that provides full scholarships to all its students.
Most Foundation Universities in Istanbul
The report also provided information on the distribution of foundation universities by provinces.
Accordingly, Istanbul became the province with the highest number of foundation higher education institutions in Turkey, with 48 universities.
Following Istanbul, Ankara has 12 foundation universities, and İzmir has 4 foundation universities. There are 3 in Antalya, 2 each in Mersin, Konya, and Gaziantep, and one each in Trabzon, Nevşehir, Kayseri, and Bursa, making a total of 77 foundation universities in Turkey.
