At the meeting held at Mevlanakapı Higher Education Girls' Student Dormitory, 13 students from Jerusalem and 15 young people selected through an exam from Turkey met in a friendly atmosphere. Participants attended both academic seminars and engaged in cultural sharing.
Our Board Chair, Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, emphasized Turkey's commitment to the Palestinian cause in her speech:
"Palestine is not just a geography, but the conscience of humanity. Al-Aqsa Mosque is our common compass. This cause is the struggle for the dignity of all humanity."
Yılmaz also pointed out that Turkish and Palestinian youth will represent individuals of justice, compassion, and brotherhood in the world of tomorrow.
For us, this project is not just an educational activity, but a brotherhood bridge that connects hearts. Participants are attending trainings in programs held both in Istanbul and Jerusalem, visiting historical and cultural sites, and establishing lasting friendships.
Launched on May 8, 2025, "Pusula: The Common Direction of Humanity" aims to raise awareness among young people on issues such as international law, religious freedoms, and the protection of cultural heritage. At the end of the program, it is planned to establish a "Olive Grove of Peace and Brotherhood" in Jerusalem, or in Turkey if that is not possible.
