Our Şırnak Silopi Secondary Education Girls' Student Dormitory organized a year-end exhibition showcasing various handicrafts created by our students. The exhibition was met with great interest from visitors. In addition to their high school education, our students who also receive training in handicrafts had the opportunity to present their works with the year-end exhibition they organized in the dormitory's garden. The exhibition was attended by Silopi District Governor Sezer Işıktaş, TÜRGEV Chairman of the Board Dr. Fatmanur Altun, TÜRGEV General Manager Abdulkadir Çay, District National Education Director Bülent Dayanan, District Public Education Director Osman Bilen, TÜGVA Silopi Organization President Fırat Haşimoğlu, and student parents.
Sezer Işıktaş, the District Governor and Deputy Mayor, emphasized that Silopi will now be remembered for such events while touring the exhibition held in the dormitory garden.
Işıktaş stated, "In addition to attending school, they are making productive efforts to evaluate their time both culturally and in terms of handicrafts during their free time. Hopefully, our district will be more frequently on the agenda with such events in the future. If realized, with the support of the Chairman of the Board and the General Manager, we want to open this exhibition in Istanbul with the participation of our students," he said.
Dr. Fatmanur Altun, the Chairman of the Board who visited the exhibition and made evaluations, expressed great pleasure in seeing that the products, which were expected to be at an amateur level, were actually very professional. He stated that the students stood out not only with their intelligence but also with their craftsmanship. Altun expressed happiness in seeing that the efforts made as TÜRGEV were being recognized, saying, "The scene you see here will continue in the coming years. These efforts will grow. Our Silopi will progress much faster. Here, we are working as a civil society as TÜRGEV. We see that these efforts are being met with a serious response here."
Azime Uslu, a parent of a student participating in the exhibition, said that her daughter drew her own portrait in the painting course and was very happy to see the portrait at the exhibition. The event concluded with souvenir photographs.
