We aim to empower our youth with a sense of conscience, knowledge, and ethical responsibility through the training series "The Language of Witnessing: Gaza and Literacy" that we launched on October 18 as Güzel İşler Fabrikası (GİF).

We implemented this program to approach the humanitarian drama in Gaza from a different perspective and to trace the truth amidst the information pollution of our time. We believe that Gaza is not just a geography, but an area where humanity is tested with conscience.

In our training series, we address 12 different literacy areas such as art, culture, religion, digital media, finance, sustainability, and citizenship through the lens of Gaza. In each session, we aim to develop our youth's critical thinking, ethical knowledge production, and multifaceted analysis skills together with experts in their fields.

Our program started in collaboration with the Rami Library and will continue every other Saturday at 14:00. The trainings will reach a wider audience not only face-to-face but also through YouTube and podcast broadcasts.

The Rami Library, one of Istanbul's important cultural and intellectual centers, hosts our project with its historical atmosphere and contemporary learning environment. Here, we bring our youth together in an environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and intellectual production.

With this training series, we aim to equip young people not only with knowledge but also with conscience. Being a witness to Gaza is also to be a witness to the truth. We are working to deepen our youth's understanding of the world and to raise them as conscientious and aware individuals.

In the first session of our series, we hosted Neslihan Değirmenci under the title of Art Literacy. Our second session will take place on November 1 with Researcher-Writer Emine Çınar under the title "Cultural Literacy – Gaza's Culture, Resistance, and Memory."

The "Language of Witnessing: Gaza and Literacy" Program will continue until March 21, 2026. We will create a permanent educational archive with video content published after each session. Thus, we will build a sustainable learning model that goes beyond a periodic event.
