"The Language of Witness: Gaza and Literacy" program series was implemented as a holistic awareness project that we designed through 12 different literacy topics. With this series, we aimed to create a lasting memory ground that reflects both our moral responsibility awareness and our educational perspective, and to contribute to the development of social responsibility awareness among young people by encouraging them to read the world with ethical, humanitarian, and critical depth.

In this context, on Thursday, February 26, we held the 9th session of our series at GİF Safvetipaşa Campus between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. In the seminar titled "Citizenship Literacy – The Responsibility of Silence," we addressed important topics such as international law, human rights, individual civil responsibility, and the right to speak out.

In our seminar, Av. Yasin Şamlı (President of Bar Association No. 2) was a speaker. Throughout the program, we evaluated the individual's responsibility in the face of global and local developments, the societal and legal consequences of remaining silent, and the necessity of active citizenship awareness from a multidimensional perspective. Together with our participants, we conducted an in-depth reading on the axis of rights, responsibilities, and moral stance.

With our "The Language of Witness: Gaza and Literacy" program series, we continued our goal of creating a collective memory about Gaza while also contributing to the development of a human rights-based, critical, and sensitive perspective among young people.
