The "TÜRGEV 2019 Education Workshop" was held with the participation of our Board Chairman Dr. Fatmanur Altun, along with the valuable educators and academics of Turkey.

The workshop, organized within the scope of the TÜRGEV 2019-2020 Education Plan to develop educational activities for female students and to implement quality and effective educational programs, was conducted in three sessions. In the I. Session; ‘TÜRGEV 2019-2020 Academic Programs’, in the II. Session ‘Interdisciplinary Approach and Collaboration Opportunities between Institutions’, and in the III. Session, ‘Support Services for the Demands and Needs of Youth’ were discussed.

‘TÜRGEV’ has a mission and vision.

In her speech at the workshop, our Board Chairman Dr. Fatmanur Altun shared the founding story of TÜRGEV and the services successfully provided for the education of young girls for 23 years, and continued her words as follows.

‘I believe that the accommodation service is a very important threshold in terms of equal opportunities in education. From our past experiences, it is unfortunately seen that in places where accommodation services are not effective, there is a significant regression in the education of girls. TÜRGEV has a very important mission and vision beyond providing accommodation opportunities for female students. It aims to raise young people who know themselves, their history, and their goals well; who read, think, question, research, produce, and are entrepreneurial. The mission and vision that TÜRGEV possesses brings us closer to having a greater say in the field of education every day. When we look at our educational activities at Ibn Khaldun University, Palet Schools, EDEP, TURKEN, and our dormitories, they all lead to one destination. That is a path for the youth model I just mentioned. In our secondary and higher education dormitories, we are striving to advance the model of thinking, producing, and questioning individuals through workshops, club activities, seminars, and academic studies. We want our people, our youth, these bright minds, to know their own society, to engage with their own problems, and to pursue the right questions brought by their philosophical views. At this point, we have educational activities in our dormitories. With the advantage of physical space, we can gain more time. However, we are also faced with a disadvantage. When we address students from every cultural segment and every field of education in the same way, unfortunately, the efforts put into education do not yield the expected results. Today, we have come together with the valuable educators and academics of Turkey to create a better roadmap for the education of our young girls. I believe it will be a progressive workshop not only for TÜRGEV but also for our education community in general. I thank you all for your participation.’
