The I. Student Symposium of TÜRGEV Akademi Programı (TAP), where TÜRGEV students receive academic-level education to gain competencies beyond their specialization areas and which has become a second university for them, was held on Sunday, December 1st at SETA ISTANBUL.
The I. Student Symposium of TÜRGEV Akademi Programı, which has become a second university for them, was held on Sunday, December 1st at SETA ISTANBUL, with the aim of enabling TÜRGEV students to gain competencies beyond their specialization areas through academic-level education.
In the program supported by expert academics in the field, all students who took courses throughout the year from their professors in the fields of "Islamic Sciences" and "Social Sciences" and prepared their presentations based on the topics of interest successfully presented their papers.
After the opening speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Kelpetin, who explained the works of the Academy to the audience and students, TÜRGEV Board Chairman Dr. Fatmanur Altun also talked about why TÜRGEV needs such an Academy and the contributions of the Academy to TÜRGEV.
In the first session of the symposium, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hikmet Yaman, Beyza Nur Erol from Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University presented her paper titled "The Guidance of the Sunnah in Understanding Islam and the Binding Nature of the Actions of the Prophet Muhammad"; Nurşen Yüksel from Istanbul City University presented "Maqasid al-Sharia"; Hatice Büşra Sarı from Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University presented "The Reflections of Hz. Omar's Ijtihads on Today"; Merve Göktaş from Marmara University presented "An Evaluation on Whether the Door of Ijtihad is Closed or Not"; and Nurseda Dayı from Ibn Khaldun University presented her paper titled "The Palestine-Israel Conflict in the City of Al-Khalil".
In the second session of the symposium, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Kelpetin, Rümeysa Küskü, a student from Marmara University, presented her paper titled "The Causes of Innovation Movements in Religions through Reformation and Islamism"; Rüveyda Yaman presented "The Changing Understanding of Religion in the Last Periods of the Ottoman Empire and the Example of Said Halim Pasha"; Zeynep Sevinç presented "Charisma and Leadership: A Sociological Approach"; and Mukadder Kalkan presented her paper titled "The Effects of Hunger and Satiety on Behavior".
At the end of the program, Dr. Fatmanur Altun, who asked the students participating in the symposium questions about their work and future plans and provided academic advice, presented the symposium participation certificates along with wishes for success.
