Türkiye Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı (TÜRGEV) continues its educational activities aimed at developing young people's skills in reading and interpreting the world through Güzel İşler Fabrikası (GİF). This program, titled "The Language of Witness: Gaza and Literacy," has been conducted at the Rami Library since October 18, 2025, as part of the TÜRGEV Gaza literacy education.

The program aims to deepen young people's ways of encountering information about Gaza, encouraging them to think with a sense of conscience and responsibility, and to transform witnessing into a conscious stance. In this respect, the educational series treats Gaza literacy as a permanent and holistic learning process.

The seminar series is held every other Saturday at 14:00. The first five sessions of the program are conducted at the Rami Library, while the following seven sessions take place at GİF Safvetipaşa campus. It is planned to digitize the sessions at the end of the process in YouTube and podcast format.

Gaza through art and cultural memory

In the first sessions of the educational series, Gaza was addressed within the framework of art, culture, and visual memory. On October 18, 2025, Editor Neslihan Demirci evaluated the relationship between art, witnessing, and resistance. Researcher-writer Emine Çınar discussed Gaza's cultural resistance through the cultural heritage and memory issue of Palestine on November 1, 2025. Prof. Dr. Ali Büyükaslan made evaluations on the production, circulation, and representation issues of visuals related to Gaza on November 15, 2025.

Sustainability, faith, and economic perspective

In the ongoing sessions of the program, Gaza literacy was addressed this time with the topics of sustainability, religion, and economy. In the sustainability session, Nihad Abunasser Melikoğlu evaluated access to basic needs and the continuity of life under siege conditions, while on December 13, 2025, Peren Birsaygılı Mut discussed the power of words to produce witness against oppression and transform pain into collective memory.

The first program of the new year took place on January 10. In the religion session, Dr. Necdet Subaşı addressed the concepts of conscience, justice, and responsibility in the context of Gaza.

Gaza literacy in the digital age: information, ethics, and law

The program will continue in the upcoming period with the topics of digital media, ethics, citizenship, and financial literacy. In these sessions, themes such as disinformation, perception wars, silence, individual responsibility, and economic solidarity will be discussed. In the closing of the series, the topics of Information Literacy and Data Literacy will be evaluated in a panel format moderated by TÜRGEV Chair Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz. The panel will address information production, the circulation of knowledge, the interpretation of data, and the quest for truth.

TÜRGEV Chair Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz stated that the understanding of youth education in TÜRGEV centers around conscience, awareness, and a sense of responsibility. Expressing that the events in Gaza are a severe test of humanity's relationship with justice and mercy, Yılmaz emphasized that Gaza literacy creates a responsibility of witness for young people.

Yılmaz expressed the importance of this educational series in raising young people as individuals who think about knowledge alongside ethics, keep their conscience alive, and stand by the truth.
