In the workshop where we addressed the issues of addiction, inactivity, and belonging among university youth, we developed solution-oriented policy proposals together with 100 students.
As TÜRGEV, we signed an important workshop to produce solutions to the current problems of university youth. In the "Healthy Living and Independent Campus" workshop we held in Istanbul on April 29 in collaboration with Ibn Haldun University and Yeşilay, we addressed the fundamental issues faced by young people in a multidimensional way.
Together with 100 students from different universities, we developed policy proposals on the topics of addiction, inactivity, and belonging. We aim to report all the outputs generated during the workshop and share them with the relevant institutions.
We addressed addiction as a social issue.
In our workshop, we evaluated the fight against addiction not only as an individual issue but as a social one. In this regard, we focused on preventive approaches and awareness-raising activities.
While discussing the increasing risks of addiction in areas such as technology, social media, digital games, and gambling, young people highlighted the effects of loneliness, stress, and academic pressure in this process. Increasing social spaces on campuses and spreading awareness activities were among the prominent proposals.
There were three critical topics on the agenda of young people.
Throughout the workshop, we focused on three main topics with the students:
We created a collective intelligence with 100 students.
Working with 100 students from different disciplines and actively involved in various civil society organizations, we used the "brainstorming" method. With the contributions of the Academic Advisory Board, we transformed the ideas generated into concrete policy proposals.
We conducted the entire process in a digital environment and created rich content with the active contributions of our participants. At the end of the workshop, we presented participation certificates to all our participants.
