Today, the literacy rate in Turkey has reached 97.6%. This great achievement is the most concrete indicator of the educational mobilizations carried out for years. We take great pride in witnessing our young girls not only meeting their textbooks but also being introduced to the broad horizons of science, technology, art, and sports.

In the 1980s, one in two women was illiterate. Today, the picture shows a profound transformation. The rate of women in higher education has reached 48.9% as of 2024. This change is the strongest evidence of the distance our country has covered in education and freedoms.
There was a time when our youth had their educational rights taken away at university gates due to headscarves. Today, those same young people freely occupy university classrooms, laboratories, and libraries. Our youth, who develop their own drones and local software, declare the confidence of the Turkey Century to the world.
Founded in 1996, TÜRGEV has been continuing its mission of standing by young people for 30 years. Today, more than 80,000 of our students breathe the atmosphere of brotherhood in our dormitories, and over 14,000 young people are building their futures with scholarship opportunities. For us, true success goes beyond numbers; it is being a guiding star in the educational journey of our young girls.
While the world celebrates the right to literacy, children's pencils are breaking in Gaza, and schools remain closed. 785,000 students are deprived of education. As TÜRGEV, we continue to stand by the oppressed, wherever they may be in the world, just as we support the youth of our country.
With our President's vision for youth, we know that a confident, value-driven, and just youth is the guarantee of the Turkey Century. On September 8, World Literacy Day, our call is clear: Let us advance each day further than the last and build the futures illuminated by our young girls together.
