A captivating exhibition showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Karabakh, a region in Azerbaijan, recently concluded at the TÜRGEV Foundation's Güzel İşler Fabrikası in Istanbul. Entitled "Carpets from Karabakh to Istanbul," the exhibition offered visitors a unique journey through history and culture, showcasing the region’s resilience and artistic traditions.
Displayed from December 22, 2024, to January 23, 2025, the exhibition featured over 50 exquisite handwoven carpets, each telling a story of a people’s history, roots, and renewed hope. The intricate designs and vibrant colors of these masterpieces served as powerful symbols of the region’s enduring spirit.
"These carpets are more than just beautiful objects; they are living testimonies to the resilience of the Karabakh people," said Elnara Rasulova, the renowned artist whose works were featured prominently in the exhibition. "Each thread, each color, carries the weight of history and hope."
The exhibition also included a collection of antique Karabakh carpets, offering visitors a glimpse into the region’s rich textile traditions. The works of contemporary artists, such as Rasulova, demonstrated how the region’s heritage continues to inspire new generations of creators.
