Ibn Haldun University (IHU) was established in 2015 and commenced its academic journey in the 2017–2018 academic year. With a distinguished and globally recognized faculty, the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs under six faculties and two institutes, all focused on various fields within the social sciences.
The university also hosts numerous research and application centers, fostering hands-on training and high-level academic research in social sciences.
Educational activities take place across three campuses: Fatih Süleymaniye Campus, Bakırköy Taş Mektep Campus, and the Başakşehir Ibn Haldun University Complex. Inspired by traditional Ottoman madrasa architecture, the Başakşehir Complex was inaugurated in October 2020.
As a foundation university solely dedicated to the social sciences, IHU stands out with its inclusive academic environment. Over 30% of its student body consists of international students, and more than 50% are graduate-level students. Instruction is delivered in Turkish, Arabic, and English, creating a truly international academic experience.
