Footprints of the Foot Project - Ramadan in Mardin and Konya
We developed the Kadimin İzleri project to recognize this threat and take precautions to protect our values, and we conducted an oral history study within the framework of selected topics according to their characteristics in various regions of Turkey. We chose the Southeastern and Eastern Anatolia regions as pilot areas due to the existing socio-cultural diversity.
Based on written sources and the oral culture compilations we conducted in the field, we carried out recordings in Mardin and Konya with the theme "Colors of Ramadan." We included the daily lives, life experiences, memories, and cultural practices of the source individuals. We conducted interviews with 40 people over 10 days, who are in different social, economic, and cultural conditions.
We included our students in both the theoretical and practical phases of the project. Our students continue their preparations and work to carry out different processes of the project, combining their academic education with the practical experience they gained in the field.
