It means being responsible to your country, your nation, and the world.
March 18–24 is a week dedicated to honoring the elderly, serving as a bridge between the past and the future, reminding us of our debt of gratitude to our elders who guide our society with their experiences.
Our elderly are the most valuable carriers of our family structure, cultural memory, and civilizational heritage. Their life experiences, patience, and knowledge serve as a guiding light for younger generations.
The Requirement of Our Culture and Belief
Respect for elders in our society is not only a social responsibility but also a fundamental value of our belief and culture. Preserving family ties, strengthening intergenerational communication, and keeping the awareness of gratitude alive are essential conditions for a healthy and strong society. Elderly Respect Week is an important opportunity to show our love for our elders, make them feel they are not alone, and express that we stand by them in every aspect of life.
We Are Keeping the Awareness of Gratitude Alive
We continue our efforts with a vision of raising a responsible and sensitive youth that is committed to national and spiritual values as Türkiye Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı (TÜRGEV). Through social responsibility activities and awareness programs carried out in our dormitories and educational centers, we support our students in gaining a sense of gratitude, respect, and social responsibility. We value our youth developing a strong civilizational perspective by benefiting from the life experiences of our elders.
Because we believe that a youth that respects its elders and takes ownership of its past will build the future on stronger foundations. We hope that the March 18–24 Elderly Respect Week will further strengthen the culture of love, respect, and solidarity in our society, and we wish health, peace, and well-being to all our elders.
