March 21st is World Poetry Day, a special day that reminds us of the value of words that meet meaning, emotions that are shaped by aesthetics, and the words that touch the human soul. Poetry is not just a literary genre, but also the memory of a civilization, a mirror of a nation's emotional and intellectual world.
March 21st World Poetry Day is a special day that reminds us of the value of words that touch the human soul, where words meet meaning, and emotion is shaped by aesthetics. Poetry is not just a literary genre, but also the memory of a civilization, a mirror of a nation's emotional and intellectual world.
Turkish literature has breathed poetry for centuries, passing its cultural depth through generations with the arts of words. Poetry is a powerful form of expression that keeps the social memory alive, nourishing faith, hope, and resilience. Poetry is the aesthetic expression of civilizational accumulation. It enriches the emotional world of young people and broadens their horizons of thought. It strengthens cultural identity and language awareness. It enables the transfer of values through art. Today, in the rapidly changing world of the digital age, poetry maintains its importance as a field that centers on humanity, deepens meaning, and nourishes the soul.
We are Bringing the Power of Art Together with Youth GİF
As Türkiye Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı (TÜRGEV), the Güzel İşler Fabrikası (GİF) initiatives we have implemented aim to establish a multifaceted cultural and artistic platform that allows young people to form a qualified and sustainable connection with literature, poetry, and various disciplines of art. The workshops, poetry readings, literary discussions, meetings with masters, and production-focused art activities organized within GİF contribute to our youth growing as individuals who produce and express themselves.
With these initiatives, we aim to deepen the aesthetic sensitivity of our youth, strengthen language awareness, enrich their cultural accumulation, and help them gain a perspective of civilization. We encourage thinking with the delicacy of poetry, speaking with the responsibility of words, and producing with the transformative power of art, building a cultural climate that guides young people in their search for meaning. Every work, every word, and every production presented through GİF is a reflection of the identity of youth strengthened by art and their perspective shaped by values.
We believe that March 21st World Poetry Day will contribute to strengthening cultural and artistic awareness and enriching the pen and words of our youth, and we respectfully greet everyone who has a passion for literature and poetry.
