The fifth English Student Symposium, traditionally organized by EDEP, in which TÜRGEV participates, is taking place this year with the theme "Current Issues." 25 students from different universities studying in various departments will make academic presentations in English at the symposium.
The purpose of the symposium is to contribute to the development of students' not only language skills but also critical thinking abilities, academic research capabilities, and the ability to express themselves in an international language. The participating students, who are all in their final year of undergraduate studies, will address issues concerning society, the individual, and today's world in their presentations prepared with interdisciplinary approaches.
The presentations will be held under the following topics:
Literature
Education
Psychology
Sociology
Health
Social Media
Theology
Attention-grabbing topics such as "Is tragedy possible in Islamic literature?", "Religious coping strategies in psychological distress", "The current role of the family institution", "The impact of social media on youth", and "The ruling on organ donation in Islam" will be evaluated from the perspective of young researchers.
The EDEP English Student Symposium offers its participants not only the experience of making academic presentations but also an environment where they can freely express their ideas and engage in intellectual discussions.
We invite all our students, academics, and researchers to listen to these qualified contents prepared by the future academics and to exchange ideas.
