TÜRGEV Board Chair Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz: “We Are Raising Generations Against Invisible Walls”
In her speech at the panel, our Board Chair Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz emphasized that Turkey is now a country of opportunities, not prohibitions, for women who want to produce with their faith.
Yılmaz stated, “Traumas like the headscarf ban are behind us. However, rights need to find a place not only in legal texts but also in the minds of society,” and continued by expressing that invisible barriers still persist in some areas.
She said, “A woman who walks with her faith, labor, and production not only determines her own path but also the direction of society. Women who contribute to life with their headscarves, pens, prayers, and labor are the greatest asset of this country.”
As TÜRGEV, we act with this awareness; we work with all our strength to raise generations that can establish a balance of faith, education, and production, and have high self-confidence.
Emphasis on Women's Rights by Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar
KADEM Board President Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar also stated in her speech that religious freedoms in the workplace are not only an individual right but also a matter of women's rights and human rights. She emphasized that it is a constitutional right for women to participate in social and professional life in harmony with their beliefs.
Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan: “The Modernization Process Has Created More Pressure on Women”
Ibn Haldun University Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan pointed out that the history of modernization has created more intense pressure on women regarding religious freedoms.
“The issue of religious freedoms has undergone a sharper test in areas where women have gained visibility,” said Arkan, also addressing the responsibility of universities in this matter.
We Are Working for a Future Where Women Can Produce with Faith
As TÜRGEV, we continue our efforts with the goal of building a society where young women can freely live their beliefs and strongly exist in academic and professional life. We will continue to support a future that allows women to realize their potential and offers fairness and equal opportunities.
