TÜRGEV We were in Serbia as part of the Social Innovation Youth Movement Project!

The Social Innovation Youth Movement: Serbia ERASMUS project, carried out under the coordination of TÜRGEV with the support of the National Agency, took place in Serbia from November 12 to 23. This project, aimed at young people aged 18 to 30, sought to strengthen participants' awareness of social innovation and encourage them to be catalysts for positive change in society. To this end, project participants engaged in numerous cultural and social activities.

Participants shared their contributions and expectations regarding the project in workshops held throughout the day. In sessions addressing the fundamental concepts of social innovation and the importance of social entrepreneurship in society, they listened to experiences about how to establish a social enterprise, the steps to be taken in this process, and the challenges that may be encountered. They examined the basic concepts of social entrepreneurship using the world café method. Participants created a more comprehensive framework by alternately addressing the main topics and laid the groundwork for future projects. Visiting important historical sites such as Medijana and the Skull Tower with a guide was also extremely important for intercultural interaction. In addition to Medijana and the Skull Tower, the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Niš University were visited. Here, participants were presented with data on Women Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship practices and policies in Turkey and Serbia, which were compared. Finally, a technical visit was made to Vera Leather, an entrepreneurial example established to contribute to women's employment and serve as a model for local practices.
